FEMA updated the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for portions of West Bountiful effective September 15, 2022. These changes may affect the flood insurance some properties pay; for example, properties along the west side of Mountain View Estates, Kinross subdivision, and properties north of Porter Lane and west of 830 West have been eliminated from the floodplain.
If you currently carry flood insurance because your property is in the floodplain you can review the current (revised) FEMA mapping and any effects to your property on the following website:
Type in your address, hit the search button, view your site-specific area, then choose from the two options,
- Download a FIRM Panel
- Print a site-specific map
If you believe this may impact the insurance you pay on your property, you can contact your insurance company to evaluate.
